Join us for another BiBi & Friends

Our ongoing series continues where we celebrate the chefs, bartenders, and brilliant creative minds who inspire us most.

On Tuesday, 21st July, Chef Chet Sharma will host the latest edition of the BiBi & Friends series, welcoming Chef Aktar Islam, chef patron of Birmingham’s Michelin-starred Opheem and the recently launched London restaurant Oudh 1722.

Chet and Aktar are united by a shared desire to redefine what Indian cuisine can be. Theirs is a friendship built over years of mutual respect, creative exchange, and an unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries — two chefs who have quietly and consistently championed one another as they each forged their own distinct paths. Born and raised in Birmingham, Aktar began his culinary journey at the age of 13 in his father’s restaurant, going on to earn two Michelin stars for Opheem, making it the only Indian restaurant outside London to hold that distinction. Chet’s cooking at BiBi is deeply rooted in his Indian heritage, shaped by a dedication to seasonality, sustainability, and ingredient-led dishes that honour tradition while always looking forward.

Together, they will create a menu that reflects the full breadth of modern Indian cooking — including Aktar’s celebrated Aloo Tuk, a Sindhi-inspired dish of pink fir potatoes and tamarind, alongside Chet’s Green Chilli Dover Sole with courgette, mussel, and plantain purée.

Sponsored by Krug, the dinner will be priced at £195 per person, including a paired glass of Krug. Optional wine and non-alcoholic pairings will also be available to accompany the meal.
